We are looking for a professional and hands-on Mate to join a 37m private motor yacht. This is an exciting opportunity for a career-minded individual to join a vessel with a fresh crew dynamic and a busy cruising itinerary ahead.
The vessel is currently in Fort Lauderdale, preparing for a crossing to Europe for a high-intensity summer season.
The Role
As Mate, you will be the Captain’s right hand, supporting a crew of 7. You should be equally comfortable on the bridge as you are on deck. The owner is frequently on board with friends, so we need someone who maintains high standards of deck aesthetics while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
Key Responsibilities

Navigation: Standing confident navigational watches during coastal cruising and the upcoming Atlantic crossing.

Manoeuvring: Competent in assisting with docking and undocking procedures; a calm and capable presence during arrivals and departures.

Deck Maintenance: Overseeing and executing all aspects of deck upkeep, from teak care to stainless polishing and painting.

Operations: Managing lines, fenders, and water sports equipment to a high standard.
Candidate Requirements

Qualifications: OOW (Yachts) or equivalent is required. STCW and ENG1 must be up to date.

Experience: Several years of experience as a Lead Deckhand/Bosun with some proven Mate experience on similar-sized vessels.

Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of deck maintenance products and guest-service etiquette.

Character: We have a fantastic crew dynamic and a great relationship with the owner. We are looking for a "can-do" personality who is grounded, professional, and looking for a permanent home.
